Autumn Intrigue Basket Swap Mailed
Got my package in the mail today for my first swap ever, the Autumn Intrigue Basket Swap hosted by Michele. Hope she likes it !!! Can't wait to see what might be coming my way !!!
The weather her in Georgia is still in the 90's. Doesn't feel much like Autumn, but it is surely to goodness going to cool off sometime. LOL
Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Carol

Cross Stitched Christmas Ornaments
Happy Saturday Peeps !!!
I have been very busy of late downsizing my personal collections of over 30 years, and trying to liquidate the inventory at my Children's Boutique.
But, had to sneak in a little stitching time too. I plan on participating in a local Holiday Marketplace in the month of November.
I have always found at Festivals that if you can keep your price points low, between $5 and $20, that you have a much more successful sale. People are always looking for that unique gift item that they do not have to spend a lot on.
So this year I am going to concentrate on making cross stitched ornaments, and sachets. Maybe even a few small tooth fairy and decorative pillows.
Since I have such an extensive stash of vintage lace, I will be making some really sweet and simple Angel ornaments too. I will post pix when I have them in the works, and try to do a little instructional post. They are just the simplest and cutest little thing ever, and of course you could use new lace to trim them with.
Who knows what else I might come up with to sell between now and the Festival date!!!
Now off to stitch some more. Then to start sewing my little ornaments into mini pillow with ribbon hangers. Then trim them up with bows, bells, faux greenery, etc.
Have a Blessed Weekend.
Hugs 2 U, Carol

Vintage White Hankies
I have been collecting vintage linens, lace, buttons, dishes (especially with pink roses) and various other antiques for more than 30 years. It has come time to downsize !!!
Keep and eye on my Ebay and Etsy store. You might just find something that you can give a new home.
I just listed these four lovely old drawn thread hankies on Ebay. Just a small dent in my collection !!! LOL
The weather her in North Georgia is starting to cool down just a bit. Can't wait for that first day of Crip Fall Morning air.
I need to start getting my Fall decorating items out of storage for my store. Fall fashions have already arrived and Christmas fashions should be her in about 2 weeks.
Retail merchants really do rush the season don't we? I can remember when you never saw any Christmas merchandise in the stores until after Thanksgiving.
Have a wonderful rest of the week !!!
Hugs, Carol

Computer Challenged !!!
I am sooooo computer challenged.
Trial & error is my only method of learning.
I have been playing with my Print Shop trying to get the grasp of editing and croping graphics.
Maybe the "Computer Fairy" will come while I am asleep and I will wake up with instant knowledge of all things "Geek". ;-)
The instuction manual might as well be written in French ( I don't read, write, or speak French).
Anyway, here is my feeble attempt at sharing a graphic I scanned, then cropped.
Now if I could just figure out how to outline an image within a picture and crop it so nothing was left but the figure.
Hope all is having a great summer.
Blessings to you, Carol

Happy Spring Yall !!!
It seems like it has been forever since I last visited with all of you here in Blogland.
I just wanted to stop by and let you know I have not fallen of the edge of the earth.
I have been rather busy trying to stitch up some fun fashions for the shop and keeping my booth at Our Town Antique Mall stocked.
The slow ecocnomy has really impacted my little Children's Clothing Boutique. Since I am retirement age, I have decided to slow down a bit and try to close the store sometime this year.
I have had a couple of young ladies voice interest in buying the business and keeping the store open in the same location. No one seems to be able to come up with the money to do that though. Just glad I am renting and don't have to sell the building too.
I have never had to liquidate a business before and it seems like it is going to be a labor and time consuming process, soo I probably won't have much time for posting to my Blog for a while. I will be following along with all that each of you have to share though.
You will be seeing a lot of my inventory listed on Ebay at reduced prices, so those of you that have little ones or Grandchildren take a peek at my Ebay store and see what you might find. I also have lots of baby shower gift items listed on Ebay. My Ebay name is Vintage*Lace*Creations
I will be listing most of my hand made items on Etsy. My Etsy name is nannycarol.
Here are a couple of pictures of my handmade Children's wear.
Please keep me in your prayers as I start this new chapter in my life.
Best wishes to each of you. Hoping all runs smoothly and I will be back with you soon, Carol

Spring is Arriving !!!
No I Haven't Lost My Mind !!!
Spring and summer fashions start arriving at my store January 2nd.
Here in Georgia we have hand unusually cold weather for the past week. Last night we had a light dusting of snow, also unusual for Georgia. We don't have very much snow, although we do have an ice storm at least once during January or February.
Everything comes to a stop during these rare occasions. We southerners just can't deal with the snow and ice. Since I lived in Chicago until I was 13 all the panic over what little frozen precipatation we get seems a bit strange.
Anyway, Spring will be coming, and all of my new 2010 merchandise is starting to pour in. I had a shipment of 51 Handsmocked bishop dresses just this week. All new merchandise has to be either steamed or ironed, all that warm steam sure felt good on such a cold day. (I'm in an Old Drafty Building in our Downtown Historic District )
Thought you might like a preview of some of my new merchandise. Traditional childrens clothing is just tooooo cute!!! Each one I pull out of the box is just sweeter than the last.
My best selling brands are Bailey Boy's and Rosalina.
Bailey Boy's is a Georgia based company. They manufacture cute appliqued clothing, a lot of it is reversable so you really get two for the price of one. They also do sweet traditional hand smocked garments.
Rosalina is a South Carolina based company. They mostly specialize in Hand Smoked Bishop Dresses. It always amazes me how they can come out with so many new variation of designs each season.
Just a preview of all that is to come.
Hope you all have a warm and cozy winter. Spring is coming!!!
Just a reminder --- shop early for Easter fashions. They seem to get picked over earlier & earlier each year.
XOXOXO, Carol
