In A Whirlwind !!!

Hi Friends.  Sorry I have been away so long. I have been extremely busy lately.  Trying to get the whole house packed up so we can finish painting and get new carpet installed.  WHAT A JOB !!!

We did sneak in a 4 day vacation to Okaloosa Island Florida.  Thought we could get away to a little bit warmer climate, but it was cool and very windy while we were there.  Did enjoy the sightseeing and shopping though, and some nice restaurants.

I have been back to work in my studio again and have a few things to show you today.

I have never made an Explosion Box Gift Card so I thought I would give it a try.  Not as hard as I thought it would be.

I also finished up a couple of all occasion cards that would be appropriate for Graduation or Weddings.

Finally I have some more Christmas items to add to my Etsy shop.   I am always making extra items for Christmas.  I participate in a Holiday Gift & Craft Show the first week of November, so I need to make lots of items up ahead of time to have a full booth.

I had better get busy now and finish packing.  The carpet installers are suppose to be here Monday morning and I still have some work to do to get ready for them.  Can't hardly wait for the new carpet !!!  LOL  It has been a long time since we did any redecorating around here.  Looking forward to having a brighter fresher look.

Hugs,
Carol

Recent Additions and Trying My Hands at a New Craft

I have been using stick pins for a while as an embellishment to my decorative cards, so I thought I would try my hands at making some custom beaded ones.  You can find them in my Etsy shop along with some more recent additions to my greeting card collection.

Busy Week !!!

I have been working on inventory for a Christmas Craft Show that I do the first week of November.  I mix my Studio time between Christmas items and general merchandise for my Etsy Shop.  This week the Christmas items seem to take center stage.  They will be sitting in my Etsy store for now until I need them for the Craft Show.  Hop over and take a peek.
I also have for sale some sweet Easter Tags and Wish Tree Tags I finished up this week.
We are trying to downsize still, hard to let go of thing you have treasured for years.  I have added a couple of my Cup & Saucer Sets to my shop also.  Way to many Cups & Saucer here.    LOL   :0)  More to come as I can bear to let go of them.
Back to work for now.  Have a great weekend.

I'm Back !!!

It has been a year and a half since I last signed into my blog !!!   Time flies when you are having fun.  ;0)

I highly recommend retirement to those of you thinking about hanging up the 9 - 5 work routine.

To catch you up on what has been going on in our lives ---  We have been doing a lot of traveling.  This Thanksgiving holiday we took the whole family, son, daughter, son in law, and 2 grandaughters to Disney World.  Although the rest of the family has been a few times,  I had only been once 25 years ago.   It was interesting to watch the crowd of people manuvering back and forth.  What a mad house !!!  We have taken a couple of trips to the beach,  and a couple of day trips to the mountains.  We also attended 2 military reunions, one in Ohio and one in Florida.

Most recently we have started to do some sprucing up around the house, long overdue, painting, carpet, and hopefully updating the kitchen and both bathrooms.  Since we are not adept at any form of carpentry, tileing, carpet laying, etc.  we will be hiring all of that work done.  We are pretty good with a paint roller though, just slooooooooow !!!   LOL

Now don't think that is all I have been up to since I closed my retail store,  I am still doing all the needlework and crafts I have always done.  Just on my own time schedule.  No special orders and no deadlines.  Just work when I want to and make what I have a whim to make.

I am enjoying playing with paper these days, making cards, tags, and decorative pieces.  I have been designing some graphic on my computer.  I am not very computer literate and can't figure out all the different techniques to altering graphics.  Especially the transparent backgrounds or PNG.  Their are lots available to purchase on Etsy so I guess I will just have to use them for now.

My all time favorite,  I still love making Lavender Sachets using vintage graphics, vintage lace and vintage linens.

Here are a couple of pictures of things I have made and listed on Etsy.  Hop on over and check them out.

I will try to get back in the swing of things here in Blogland.  BTW -  I have been following the rest of you out there even though I haven't been posting myself.

Bye for now.

Carol

Cross Stitched Christmas Ornaments

Happy Saturday Peeps !!!

I have been very busy of late downsizing my personal collections of over 30 years, and trying to liquidate the inventory at my Children's Boutique.

But, had to sneak in a little stitching time too. I plan on participating in a local Holiday Marketplace in the month of November.

I have always found at Festivals that if you can keep your price points low, between $5 and $20, that you have a much more successful sale.  People are always looking for that unique gift item that they do not have to spend a lot on.

So this year I am going to concentrate on making cross stitched ornaments, and sachets.  Maybe even a few small tooth fairy and decorative pillows.

Since I have such an extensive stash of vintage lace, I will be making some really sweet and simple Angel ornaments too.  I will post pix when I have them in the works, and try to do a little instructional post.  They are just the simplest and cutest little thing ever, and of course you could use new lace to trim them with.

Who knows what else I might come up with  to sell between now and the Festival date!!!

Now off to stitch some more.  Then to start sewing my little ornaments into mini pillow with ribbon hangers.  Then trim them up with bows, bells, faux greenery, etc.

Have a Blessed Weekend.
Hugs 2 U,  Carol
